Video-Nystagmography (VNG) registers and quantifies eye movements using a mask equipped with video cameras, and it contributes to distinguish inner ear lesions from problems occurring in the central nervous system.

The video Head Impulse Test (vHIT) allows for the dynamic testing of the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR), and it is suited to people displaying symptoms related to the loss of function in the peripheral vestibular system, such as nystagmus, postural deviations, balance problems, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, cervical rigidity, vestibular ataxia and problems of awareness. It contributes to the diagnosis of balance problems related to head movement.

The Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMPs) diagnose changes in balance related to gravity and head movement whilst walking, as well as the feeling of dizziness caused by very loud noises.

The Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP) is used to the general evaluation of balance, analyzing visual, vestibular and somatosensory information. By measuring the discrepancies between the information received by these three systems, the underlying causes for the balancing issues may be evaluated.

This range of exams offers a comprehensive diagnosis which will allow for the development of a treatment plan which will hopefully restore a level of normality in the patient’s everyday life, and a significant improvement in its quality.
